Case Study: Fluoride Removal Wastewater Treatment Project for an Automobile Manufacturing Plant

Project Background


With increasingly stringent industrial wastewater discharge standards, the control over characteristic pollutant fluoride has been elevated to quasi-Class III requirements under the Environmental Quality Standards for Surface Water (F⁻ ≤ 1.0 mg/L).Fluoride-containing wastewater generated from painting, phosphating, and surface treatment processes in the automobile manufacturing industry has become a key target for environmental management.


Project Overview

At a large-scale automobile manufacturer, the fluoride concentration in the effluent from the existing wastewater treatment system remained stable at approximately 15 ppm exceeding the latest local discharge limit of ≤1 ppm.Consequently, the enterprise initiated a dedicated upgrade and retrofit project, requiring the design of a high-efficiency fluoride removal system with a treatment capacity of 20 m³/h to ensure long-term compliance with discharge standards.
